also at the book fair John Dilnot had a stall. John is an artist from brighton who makes these exquisite little books. they’re all hand made and you can tell a huge amount of care went into each one. I only ended up buying 3 of the little books, wish I could have bought pretty much everything on his stall. It was all so amazing.
got these posters at the book fair and you cant really see in the picture but each one has an archive of emails received from clients. it’s such a simple idea that has been executed beautifully.
I’ve had the best geeky day out today. We went to the small publishers fair in Holborn and holy shit was it amazing! I was like a kid in a sweet shop. a well stocked, high quality sweet shop. I did end up spending close to £100 on books, which probably wasn’t the best idea in my financial state, but fuck it these books are beautiful! So I’m just going to do a series of posts basically showing off my purchases.
we got set a project earlier in the month to make a drawing machine. instead of going down the obvious routes of inks and paints we decided to make our mark with light and this is the outcome. we made the machine using a box, some elastic bands and lots of nails. there is nearly a minute of black in the video but the outcome is worth it, i promise.
yeah so i’ve been far to busy to blog lately. just wanted to pop in and post this though. It’s a drawing of Haruki Murakami done by Jeffrey Brown. Those are two men who feature pretty heavily in my library and who I love so yeah, pretty exciting.
